Timeanddate reports about 13% historical cloud cover for 2 August since 2000. Treat that as climatology, not a forecast. Keep a mobile plan along the Cádiz coast and decide the final site from short-range forecasts 48–72 hours before the eclipse.
Getting there
Transport reality
Cádiz has rail links and road access via the A-4/AP-4 corridor, with Jerez airport the nearest major airport. For eclipse morning, walking from your accommodation is safer than assuming normal road capacity.
For a one-off event, optimise for robustness rather than theoretical travel time: arrive early, avoid roadside parking and expect temporary traffic restrictions.

Cortadura / southern beaches
Large open areas and room to spread out. Scout the exact eastern sightline in advance and expect access restrictions or heavy traffic on eclipse morning.
La Victoria seafront
Easy if you are staying in the city, with services close by. Convenience is excellent; crowd density is the main downside.
Bay-side open waterfront
Potentially useful for an eastern-facing sky. Choose a broad public space rather than a narrow promenade and verify local event plans before committing.

Best for atmosphere and walking; parking and vehicle exits may be difficult.
La Victoria / Puerta Tierra
Practical for beaches, larger hotels and road access.
